Helman Tor is a high point inland from the South coast in Cornwall and one of the points on The Saints' Way. Historically a place of settlement, it also provides panoramic views in all directions across the countryside, right over to Bodmin Moor and the highest tors of Rough Tor and Brown Willy. It is surrounded by wild nature reserves which can be explored on foot. It was no doubt a place where Celtic Christians stopped to pray and is also close to the hamlet where William O'Bryan, the founder of the Bible Christians (Bryanites) lived. A footpath connects from the tor to the Chapel which he founded at Gunwen less than a mile away. No doubt he too prayed on this high tor.
