St Helen's Isles of Scilly
St Helen's Isles of Scilly is now an uninhabited island where St Elidius, a Celtic saint lived and had a prayer oratory. Not much is known about them but the remains of the oratory and a medieval church are evidence of this community. Pilgrims are known to have been drawn to this place over the centuries. Also, the presence of God within the prayer oratory is tangible, indicating this is still a very 'thin place' where heaven touches earth. You can visit on an archaeological tour or hire a boat and land independently.
