King Brychan was a Celtic Christian king who had his court at Talgarth in Wales, at the foot of the Black Mountains. He was a warrior king and had many children, all of whom he sent to St Gastyn at Llangasty on Llangorse Lake to be discipled. They then left Wales as missionaries many travelling to Cornwall and establishing monastic communities.
