LLangorse Lake, Llangasty is historically associated with King Brychan and St Gastyn who had his hermitage on the lakeside. The current church is built on the original prayer site and still has a circular churchyard, indicating an earlier Celtic settlement. King Brychan sent his children to be St Gastyn to be mentored in the Christian faith. This is also where Howell Harris had a life changing encounter with the Holy Spirit which launched him into his ministry and the beginnings of Welsh Methodist in the 1700s.
