St Kevin was a Celtic saint particularly associated with Glendalough monastery in the Wicklow Mountains of Ireland. This was an extensive monastery situated by two lakes and nestled between high wood clad mountain sides. Kevin's prayer cell and cave are still there and it's a wonderful place to pray high above the upper lake and surrounded by trees, looking out to the opposite mountain side. Getting there early morning before the tourists are out gives a glimpse of the life of solitude, sacrifice and devotion Kevin led and the cell is still a really easy place to pray in.
