Portals

Portals

A 'portal' or 'thin place' is somewhere people have found it easy to encounter God. It's as though Heaven is touching earth and people glimpse the Kingdom of God. In the Bible places like Bethel and Mount Sinai are such portals.  Often, however, they are hidden and need to be sought out by the spiritually hungry. They may be sites where earlier Christians have prayed and created an opening in the Spirit realm. Historically there may have been miracles occurring and they are sometimes referred to as Ancient Wells. Such is the case at many of the early Christian Celtic sites. Even today these places can be portals of spiritual experiences and intimacy with God, if you know where to look. Often guarded by God's angels, there is an ease in finding God and experiencing His loving hand.
